Prairie Rock

Pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked and walked.

Pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked and walked.

They washed in streams and worked and played.

Sundays they camped and read and prayed.

Week after week they sang as they walked and walked and walked and walked,

And SQUAWKED!

This is how Jason likes to sing this classic Primary pioneer song to our kids.

Can you imagine how many times pioneer parents must have heard “Are we there yet?” while crossing the prairie?

Their only sanity must have been that a good whippin’ was acceptable back then.

Scott recently made up his own ending to that Primary song:

Week after week they sang as they walked and walked and walked and walked,

And ROCKED! (Insert 11-year-old boy air guitar performance here.)

This sparked an idea for Jason who then told the kids he would sing Queen to them to get them movin’ across the plains:

We will we will WALK you!

I’m singin’,

We will we will WALK you!

I’m sure our pioneer ancestors roll over in their graves at us.
