Bean Tip

If you burn a pot of beans because you’re trying to make an authentic Brazilian dish for your family for dinner, and you accidentally forget to check the water level in the pot so it simmers down to nothing and fills the house with a putrid smoke, don’t panic.

There’s a way to get rid of the smell.

Just start to saute garlic and onions, then get distracted by helping your son look for his soccer jersey because his ride is outside honking and you’ve told him a million times to put his stuff away where it goes so he can find it when he needs it, but he never does so you end up frantically searching the house and finally find his jersey in the bin where the Wii games are and send him out the door.

Believe me, the burned bean smell will be completely gone by then.
