My kids earn some TV time when they get their work done and their show of choice most often is unfortunately “Spongebob Squarepants.”
I have actually watched a couple of episodes upon my children’s insistence, and I admit it can be clever and funny at times, but the characters’ voices are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
It’s like a writer and a producer were watching the movie Dumb and Dumber and heard “the most annoying sound in the world” and said, “Hey, let’s make a TV show out of that noise.”
The nautical nonsense cast screeches in fast monotone pitches that sit on my very last nerve as the show plays like a torturous soundtrack in the background of my house.
Like a recent study proved, I’m pretty sure we’re getting dumb and dumber over here at our house this summer.
