One of our house cats came in after spending a lazy summer afternoon commiserating with the barn cats and smelled like Pepé le Pew.
Jason went to check it out and, sure enough, Pepé has made himself a nice little nest in our haystack.
Jason said we’ve actually been pretty lucky to not have any wildlife like skunks or racoons settle in our barn in the six years we’ve lived here.
I stupidly asked, “Why now, do you think?”
Jason sheepishly answered, “Well, there are some benefits to having a dog around, even if it’s a deranged one.”
I knew Patches would find a way to haunt me from the grave.
