Funny Twenty 2

Today I have officially been married for half my life—twenty freakin’ years! How time flies.

Last week I lost my wedding ring and I’ve looked everywhere for it. I’ve NEVER misplaced it before. I even searched through the filthy depths of the vacuum canister.

It wasn’t there.

The past few days the sound on my cell phone has been going out. I can hear the person on the other end, but they can’t hear me.

On Monday I was taking the kids to Cherry Hill and the transmission went out on the van, so I’ve been staying at my sister’s house in Farmington trying to get that taken care of.

When I woke up this morning on my 20th anniversary away from home, without my wedding ring, and unable to talk to Jason on my phone, I laughed.

It’s just so “us.”

Since I couldn’t talk to Jason I texted him, “Happy Anniversary!! I love you!”

Jason texted back, “Love you too! I’m having a hard time deciding what to get you for a present . . . a new car, a new ring, or a new phone. I can probably only afford a new dog.”

Bring it on, life.

We were meant for each other.

Wow I lost my ring and my wife did too. Maybe we can get new ones. Life can be interesting for all of us.
